.What Can You Expect?
Our Sunday morning service starts at 10:55 and ends at noon or so. There you can expect heartfelt worship through various styles of great music plus application oriented Bible teaching in a friendly and casual family atmosphere. In Colossians 3:16, the Apostle Paul says “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.” That’s a great summary description of what our various worship teams do on Sunday mornings here at Golden Prairie. They lead us in all kinds of “psalms, hymns and spiritual songs” that help us express our gratitude to God for who He is and what He does for us. Then as we open the Word of God together, you can expect to experience personal, positive life-change as you learn to apply the timeless truth of God’s Word, the Bible, in your daily life and relationships.
You can also expect meaningful fellowship with our church family before and after both the worship service and the 9:40 a.m. elective Bible classes. Monthly carry-in dinners after the worship service plus small groups that meet throughout the week provide additional opportunities to develop and deepen relationships. We take all the “one another’s” of the New Testament seriously starting with “love one another earnestly since love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8). With love as the foundation we are to be devoted to, forgive, accept, bear with, honor, greet, be hospitable to, be kind and compassionate to, share with, serve, carry burdens for, build up, encourage, comfort, instruct, admonish, pray for, confess our sins to, be of the same mind toward, submit to, and stimulate love and good deeds in one another. This Biblical “one-anothering” (as I like to call it) describes our Spirit-empowered life together as we devote ourselves to the fellowship of His church.
God loves kids and so do we! So, if you have children, at 9:40 on Sundays you can expect age-graded learning experiences with role model/mentors teaching your children by example. We value our teens too. So for them, at 9:40 on Sundays you can expect discussion oriented Bible learning experiences designed to meet their unique needs. Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers, as needed, during our family worship time.
